Catastrophic Effects of Radiation Contamination
by Jim Fetzer and Leuren Moret
On Friday, 28 October 2011, it was my honor to host Leuren Moret and Christopher Busby as my guests on “The Real Deal”, an internet radio program broadcast on M/W/F from 5-7 PM/CT over revereradio.net.
Leuren Moret is an independent geoscientist who has done expert studies on the Fukushima disaster, radiation problems around the world including depleted uranium.
Dr. Christopher Busby is a visiting biomedical studies professor at the University of Ulster and is the co-author of reports about the effects of depleteed uranium in Iraq especially in relation to Fallujah.
What Busby found much to his surprise was not DU but enriched uranium instead, which supports the inference that new bombs are being used to commit war crimes in Iraq. As though that revelation was not disturbing enough, the first hour was devoted to an explanation of the catastrophic effects of radiation contamination enveloping the world and threatening the survival of our species.
Both hours of these extraordinary interviews
These discussions are not for those who are weak of heart. As the following transcript–enhanced with diagrams and charts that demonstrate how truly horrific are the consequences of global contamination by radiation–explains, those who have been in charge of the fates of our nations appear to have been massively ignorant of their genetic effects and of the consequences of the future successful reproduction of Homo sapiens.
I say with a heavy heart that the situation is more than dire and that we may well have passed the point of no return. For those of us with children and grandchildren, what life they have ahead of them may dwarf any of the catastrophes of the past.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Major William Fox, USA (ret.), a former intelligence officer who publishesamericafirstbooks.com, who spent a great deal of time and effort making sure that this interview would come to pass. I also want to add a personal note of appreciation to Bill, since he also published my first political article,“9/11 and the Neo-Con Agenda”.

Dr. Fetzer: This is Jim Fetzer, your host on “The Real Deal”, with my very special guest for the first hour, Leuren Moret, who is an independent geoscientist and has done expert studies on the Fukushima disaster, radiation problems around the world, including depleted uranium.
And we will be joined in the second hour by Professor Christopher Busby who is a visiting Biomedical Studies Professor at the University of Ulster, and who has done two reports about depleted uranium and problems, genetic and otherwise in Iraq. Leuren, it is a great pleasure to have you back on this show again.
Leuren Moret: Thank you very, very much, Jim. I appreciate all of the very hard work that you have done, and the tremendous effort you have made to bring truth to the public. It really is a great service to humanity.
Dr. Fetzer: Well those are very kind words, Leuren. I have been especially glad to have the privilege to feature you in discussing this catastrophe in Fukushima, which seems to me to have dimensions that really have not begun to be appreciated by the American public, in part because of suppression in the major media, which of course should at this point in time come as no surprise to any of us.
Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) program at Cologne Univ., Germany, reported releases daily through July 31, 2011, when nearly all reporting was shut down globally.
This shut down coincided with the transport of the molten nuclear reactor fuel reaching the groundwater below the reactor buildings, causing continual releases into the ocean and the atmosphere that will not end in our lifetime.
This map indicates that heavy contamination (depending on rainfall) occurred in the Aleutian Islands, Arctic Ocean, west coast of N. America (including Mexico), and split into two plumes – that traveled into the mid-Pacific to Hawaii and Guam – or turned east across the US and Canada crossing the Atlantic and moving into the Mediterranean and Middle East.
This will result in contamination of the northern hemisphere and more slowly the global biosphere. Source: Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) program, Cologne University, Germany.
Leuren Moret: Right.
Dr. Fetzer: Please do bring us up to date on the latest results, Leuren, how serious this has become, and the kinds of hazards to health here in the United States and around the world represented by this disaster.
Leuren Moret: Well there is a very, very interesting report now based on data from the Centers for Disease Control, and at the Centers for Disease Control, which is in Atlanta, Georgia, and it is a U.S. Government agency.
Every county in the United States… and in particular, they analyze data from samples all over the U.S. from 129 cities. So every county, and cities also, report data and so do the states, to the Centers for Disease Control every week. And they correct the data for changes in demographics and other factors.
In other words the number of new births, the numbers of infant mortality, or deaths of babies born per 1,000 or 100,000, the causes of death, the number of deaths, and other data like that, also diseases. So based on the data that has been tallied or reported by the Centers for Disease Control, as of September 3, 2011, and beginning March 13, 2011, in that period, we have had excess unexplained deaths.
Data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported March 13- Sept. 3, 2011, shows increasing excess deaths for nearly all regions of the US.
This very high increase in acute deaths throughout the US, that increases every week, can only be explained by regional environmental contamination from the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan. Increases in infant mortality range from 35-45% or higher, and is not included in the map data. Source: Bobby1, “Post-Fukushima Excess Deaths in US Updated for Sept. 3”
Leuren Moret: An increased death rate in the United States, which varies by state and by region, but Centers for Disease Control has reported 34,129 excess deaths in the United States – including 129 cities, and that is basically unexplained compared to one year ago with corrections made for migration of population or other different changes.
So there is no reasonable explanation for such a large and very alarming increase in death rates, which in some regions, for instance the Mountain Region, from Montana to the border of Mexico, it includes Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. They had a 9.1% increase in death rates as of September 3rd since the Fukushima disaster [as of March 13, 2011].
The radiation levels in the environment [deposition], and the increase in death rates and diseases from the radiation exposure, are based on WEATHER and on GEOGRAPHY. So in areas that are mountainous, they will have very high rainfall and rainout/snowout of radiation into the environment and so in this mountain region the death rate has increased 9.1%, or it is actually a total of 7,723 deaths in 8 states.
That is almost 1,000 deaths per state [Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico].
Measured month by month during heavy bomb testing in the US, 1954-1959. The strong seasonal effect causes higher radiation levels during early spring rain and change of seasons.
The largest number of new cases of diabetes and autism are diagnosed in the first few weeks of the rainy season, due to higher exposure levels to the population. This is a global phenomenon. Source: J.M. Fowler Ed., Fallout: A Study of Superbombs, Strontium 90, and Survival, Basic Books, (1960), Fig. 5.
Dr. Fetzer: That is really rather startling, Leuren, and would it be that the geographical proximity of these regions in relation to the way in which the pollution is being distributed by the various forces that are affecting it, including of course the wind, atmosphere, and so forth at different levels of the stratosphere, are causing or creating a pattern that looks highly consistent with what one would expect from radiation contamination from Fukushima?
Global pole to pole circulation of nuclear bomb test fission products (left) injected high into the atmosphere. Only 15% of the radiation released was deposited in the environment (right), the rest is still circulating slowly in the upper atmosphere.
The deposition of Strontium-90 and 1300 associated fission products (right) from pole to pole, indicates much higher deposition in the latitudes of the northern hemisphere where the bomb tests occurred, indicating the main circulation was from west to east by the high altitude Jet Stream (polar jets 7–12 km (23,000–39,000 ft) above sea level and subtropical jets at 10–16 km (33,000–52,000 ft).
Because of heating at the equator causing expansion of the troposphere upward, carrying fission products to higher altitudes and diluting radiation concentration by expansion, rather than being rained out at the equator, the lowest deposition of fission products occurred in the equatorial regions.
Nuclear tests in the southern hemisphere, by France and the UK, caused an increase in deposition of Strontium-90 and associated fission products in the southern hemisphere, but it was far less than in the northern. Source: J.M. Fowler Ed., Fallout: A Study of Superbombs, Strontium 90, and Survival, Basic Books, (1960).
Leuren Moret: Yes, and if this was a nuclear bomb test, the [actual] rainout of the radiation would be much lower [less], because a nuclear bomb test injects the radiation very high into the atmosphere. That big mushroom cloud and explosion shoots the radioactive material from the bomb very high up into the atmosphere where circulation is very slow.
And so in the mesosphere and the ionosphere, which are above the troposphere, the troposphere is from the ground up to maybe 50 miles [correction “feet” or about 11 miles at middle latitudes] or something like that, that is the top of the troposphere.
But the troposphere is the most dynamic part of the atmosphere [and contains 99% of the water and aerosols]. It is where all the storms, hurricanes, rain, and snow, will rain/snow out any [radioactive] pollution.
Leuren Moret: And that is why in a city where they have a pollution problem like Mexico City or Los Angeles, or maybe Bakersfield in Southern California, after a rain it rains out all of that pollution from the air very efficiently, and snow removes 95% [most efficient scavenger of radiation from the atmosphere] of the highly charged radioactive particles from the air.
So the best place to be when there is a lot of radiation released into the troposphere – in other words it floats up from nuclear power plants that release it every day, or it floats up into the troposphere and it is picked up by air currents from a battlefield, or this disaster in Japan from Fukushima, is the same thing as releasing 300 times more radiation [measured at peak levels in Japan] than Chernobyl, or 1,000 times [measured at UK govt. radiation lab at Harwell in 1963 at the peak of atmospheric testing] more than from atmospheric testing.
The global fission product contamination plume aerial distribution from Chernobyl (left) compared to the Fukushima radiation plume and (right) in North America.
Nuclear explosions and accidents that occur on the ground and are picked up by air currents in the troposphere, result in much higher rainout of the nuclear materials into the environment, a much more efficient form of nuclear war, and conveniently everyone thinks it’s an accident.
Compared to bomb testing, which resulted in environmental deposition of only 15% of the radiation created by bomb tests in a period of 65 years, with Chernobyl, depleted uranium, and Fukushima, 95% of the radiation and aerosols will be rained out of the troposphere in 2 ½ months.
Even more alarming is that the comparison of peak Japanese radiation releases from Fukushima, were at least 300 times higher than from Chernobyl, as estimated by Dr. Chris Busby, a British radiation expert.
The fact that the US military is synchronizing the peak bombing campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan with the summer monsoon rainy season since 2003, indicates that depleted uranium is being used as a military depopulation agent in the Middle East, Africa, SE Asia, Central Asia, Asia, and beyond.

Leuren Moret: Now during bomb testing, only 15% of all that radioactive material has actually been deposited on the earth in the environment. Most of it, 85% of it, is still up there, moving around slowly in the ionosphere and the mesosphere.
So this [Fukushima, Japan, March 11, 2011] is a very acute exposure compared to nuclear bomb testing, the nuclear bomb test era. But it is much more similar to the very acute exposure that people receive who live within a hundred miles of nuclear power plants.

Dr. Fetzer: Let me ask you this, Leuren. Are the [excess] deaths that are being recorded here [in the US], do they fall into a pattern that would suggest who is most vulnerable to the effects of this kind of pollution or contamination?
Leuren Moret: Yes, yes. In this kind of an exposure, an acute exposure like this, which is… we are inhaling it – that is the worst exposure of all, is inhaling nanoparticles [0.1 microns and smaller] of radioactive material, because 70% of those very tiny particles go right through the blood-lung barrier into the blood, and cholesterol and lipids in the blood pick up those radioactive particles and hide them.
They mask them from the body’s defenses and they are carried by the lipids and cholesterol right through the cell walls into the most intimate parts of the cell, and that [the cell] has to function properly in order for life to go on normally. And when that radiation gets into the cells, and is filtered out in the tissues of the body – the muscles and everything, it just completely destroys a person’s health.
It may be slowly, it may be very rapidly, but people today, many of these people who died in that total death count of 34,129 people [March 13-September 3, 2011] are people whose health was already marginalized and compromised by previous disease, or what they had inherited as their health future and their health history from their own parents, and grandparents, and families. So, the weaker people, are the ones who die first.
They die almost immediately. And… winter is coming now, so there is always a big die-off of elderly, or people in the winter time, who just do not have a strong enough immune system to fight off flu, or colds or pneumonia, so they die… especially in the winter period.
But this radiation can cause them to die in low death rate periods, like the summer or a warm spring, or a warm fall. So we are seeing, what basically are the effects of nuclear war on a civilian population, without anyone in America hardly even knowing it.
Dr. Fetzer: Leuren, this is heart-wrenching… very profoundly disturbing. Are we seeing a similar pattern along the Pacific Coast and are the effects much more attenuated as you move across the continent.
Leuren Moret: Well… the Centers for Disease Control divides the United States into regions. And so the Pacific Region is where I am living, and that includes Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, and Hawaii.
And the Centers for Disease Control have determined that there has been a 3.5% increase in deaths in those five states as of September 3, 2011, compared to one year ago for the same time period, March 13th through September 3, 2010. And that amounts to 6,716 deaths. So it is a lower percentage increase than the Mountain Region, but it is almost the same number of deaths.
Dr. Fetzer: Could the mountain region have a higher percentage by virtue of its greater elevation?
Leuren Moret: Yes.
Dr. Fetzer: Altitudinally?
Leuren Moret: Yes. The death rate is higher in the Mountain Region because the rain and snow are causing more radiation to be rained out, and deposited, in drinking water and food supplies, and just in the general environment. So the death rate is higher, and that death rate that is higher, reflects a higher radiation exposure.
The actual number of deaths may be very close [to the Pacific Region], but the death rates are really different between Mountain [9.1%] and Pacific [3.5%]. And that is because the Pacific region has a much higher population.
The 3.5% of a much higher population [Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, and Hawaii] is 6,716 deaths, but 9.1 % of the Mountain Region [Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico], which is eight states, is 7,723 deaths because they have a much lower population in that region although it is a larger physical area.
Dr. Fetzer: And of course the rate is higher because of the geographical circumstances, the degree of exposure, how much of this…
Leuren Moret: That’s right.
Dr. Fetzer: This contamination is reaching that sparser population with a greater causal efficacy in bringing about these serious health problems and death.
Leuren Moret: That’s right. Now the West North Central region is North Dakota, Minnesota on the Canadian border, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri. T
hat has a low death rate, 2.7 percent, which is because it is more to the east of the mountainous region and so there is lower rainfall [and snowfall] and not such high mountains, as the Colorado Rockies, which extend from the whole width from the Mexican border into Canada.
Dr. Fetzer: Yes, yes.
Leuren Moret: The East North Central region, which is only five states, is Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan, and that death rate is 3.7 percent, which is 6,513 deaths.
The New England states are Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Vermont, and that region has a 3% death rate, which is surprising because it is so far east, but they have higher rainfall. And that represents 1,725 deaths because New England is only about the size of Washington State. It is much smaller even than California… half the size of California.
Dr. Fetzer: And when you say 3%, you really mean a 3% increase in the death rate.
Leuren Moret: Yes, a 3% increase in the death rate [March 13 –Sept. 3, 2011], but the total actual number of deaths is 1,725, because they have a smaller geographical area and lower population.
Dr. Fetzer: And of course drawing the inference that this increase in the death rate is proximally caused by contamination from the Fukushima disaster, we are making the assumption that other factors that might possibly affect the death rate have remained approximately constant across time.
Leuren Moret: That’s right. Surprisingly, West South Central, which is Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas, has a relatively high death rate. It is 4.9%. And it is surprising because Texas is very dry, so is Oklahoma. And so you would have low rainout, especially since they had a drought the whole summer [of 2011] in Texas. A very severe drought, and yet 8,730 deaths occurred.
That is the highest number of absolute deaths in any region in the U.S., but for that population in that region, it is only a 4.9% increase in death rates. But that is really very alarming in such a short period of time [March13-Sept 3, 2011]. That is very significant.
Dr. Fetzer: And I suppose we don’t have data for Canada, or for Mexico, or other regions that are going to be affected here. Is this by and large incidentally, Leuren, going to be a northern hemisphere phenomenon, that by virtue of the physics of air currents and so forth, that the exposure to contamination of the southern hemisphere of the globe, is going to be considerably reduced?
The Norwegian fishing catch from 1955 to 1968, shows that a very large 50% decline in 8 years (1955-1963), and over-recovery (1963-1968) occurred in ten years between 1956 and 1966.
This occurred during the period of heaviest atmospheric testing in Nevada, when the radioactive debris drifted north-east across the United States and the North Atlantic where it was heavily rained out, giving the highest concentrations of Strontium-90 in the milk for Iceland and Norway among 11 European Countries.
Source: Sternglass, E.J., “Fallout and Reproduction of Ocean Fish Populations”, unpublished Oct. 8, 1971.
Leuren Moret: Well it is a good thing we have an ocean between us and Japan, because there has been a high rainout of the Fukushima radiation, escaping from the northeast coast of Japan, before it reaches Alaska, and the Pacific Northwest.
So the death rates, from the radiation rainout, would be even higher if we did not have that ocean between us that has helped to dilute the amount reaching the West Coast of North America. However, it is still there. And it is all the way up to the top of the troposphere, into the mesosphere, and it travels in very different directions, depending on the altitude.
The air currents all move in different directions. So it is really spreading it all over the Arctic. It is across the Northwest Territories [Canada], and across Canada. They have a very, very high increase in death rates in the Toronto area. And I know that… I watched the [Fukushima radioactive] plumes traveling across North America, on the Cologne University Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty [CTBT] Monitoring Program [website].
They had animated plume maps that were for about four days [each], showing the radiation coming in significant concentrations… coming across the Pacific and then going across North America. Then it split.
Some of it went across the Arctic and the Northwest Territories and Canada, and then came down the central Atlantic, contaminating Greenland and Iceland. But when it reached Scandinavia, it changed direction, and it went directly east across Scandinavia and the Baltic States into Russia.
The other plume, that split off over Alaska, came down the West Coast of North America and traveled across parts of the United States. A lot of it went across the Southern states. And then it also split off [from the southern coast of] California, and part of it was carried by ocean currents [south into Mexico].
The air [circulation] moved with the ocean currents out into the Pacific, and caused very high contamination of Hawaii, and Guam, and islands in the central Pacific. So it is really, really, really affecting eastern Asia, especially Japan, and North America, and then the Pacific region… islands in the Pacific. The radiation exposure is much lower in Europe, because it has to travel across another ocean, the Atlantic ocean, and there is more rainout there because there are a lot of storms and hurricanes and rain over the ocean.
But of course it is going right into our food supply. So the Pacific fishing catch is not edible. People should not be eating fish out of the north Pacific at all. And that is really a tragedy because most of the salmon for the world, much of it comes from the Alaska salmon fisheries, which is absolutely huge.
In 1971, radiation specialist Dr. Ernest Sternglass, determined that nuclear fallout was the dominant ocean pollutant during the years of bomb testing (1947-1963) primarily by the nuclear superpowers the US, Soviet Union, and UK. The 65% decline was not reversed after the 1963 Partial Test Ban Treaty ending US, Soviet Union and UK bomb tests, because France and China continued tests until 1993.
Dr. Sternglass was able to estimate that the deposition of just 250 Curies of Sr-90 and 1300 associated fission products from nuclear tests, caused a 1% reduction in the California fishing catch.
In other words, 0.1 kilo Curies of Sr-90 led to a 1% reduction in the fish population for every 2.5 kilotons equivalent of fresh fission products released into the ocean. This is 2000 times less than total yield for typical warheads (such as “Canikin”) that were tested for anti-ballistic missile systems. Dr. Sternglass concluded:
“Thus, although a leak into the fishing grounds of the North Pacific is regarded as unlikely, the consequences of even a small escape of radioactivity localized as it would necessarily be, unlike in the case of an upper stratospheric detonation of such a warhead, could be of disastrous consequences both for the fishing industry and the fish and wildlife of the entire Northern Pacific.” Source: Sternglass, E.J., “Fallout and Reproduction of Ocean Fish Populations”, unpublished Oct. 8, 1971.
Dr. Fetzer: Oh Leuren, this is shattering news. My wife and family, for example, have been avoiding consuming shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico because of the BP disaster there, but now you are suggesting that fish even from the North Pacific, is also contaminated.
That’s absolutely shocking. And to the best of my knowledge there have been no health hazard warnings issued in the United States whatsoever, about these problems, as enormous and extensive as they are.
Leuren Moret: Well, the politicians, and the government officials, and even academics, are complicit in this. And I just would like to point out that in May [2011], Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, signed an agreement with the Prime Minister of Japan, to continue importing food, untested, from Japan… for American consumption.
Dr. Fetzer: What in God’s name is going on there Leuren? Leuren, this is so irresponsible. I mean you know… I have viewed Hillary Clinton in various ways at various times, sometimes with great admiration, but this is a villainous act.
This is a form of treachery in my opinion. This is utterly irresponsible. This Hillary Clinton thinks she can intuit the safety level of food being imported from an area that has been subjected to vast nuclear contamination?
Leuren Moret: Well there was a ban on Japanese food imports following the March 11, [2011], Fukushima disaster. But by May, two months later, or two and a half months later, that ban was lifted by Hillary Clinton, and that agreement was signed to import and not test Japanese food [for radiation].
Dr. Fetzer: Leuren, we are going to have to take our first break on this dismal note. I cannot begin to express the emotions that I am feeling in hearing all of this. We’ll be right back, Jim Fetzer, with my special guest the first hour, Leuren Moret. We are going to be joined by Dr. Christopher Busby during the second hour. We’ll be right back.
FIRST BREAK
Dr. Fetzer: This is Jim Fetzer, your host on “The Real Deal”, continuing my conversation with Leuren Moret about Fukushima and other disasters around the world. Leuren, I have a new report here, dated October 25, [2011], stating “No one died from radiation exposure at Fukushima says top U.S. nuclear regulator.”
His name is Gregory Jaczko, Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), speaking at the White House. And he says, and this is quoting him, “What we know right now, there have been no fatalities we are aware of, that are directly related to radiation exposure.
I believe there were a few workers who were killed at the plant because they were performing work, and when the tsunami hit, they lost their life.”Leuren, this seems to me to be utterly incredible, and that it is coming from such a high government source disturbs me profoundly.
Leuren Moret: Well, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) was set up from the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), an earlier government agency, and they were set up to protect the government, and the military, from the public knowing about, or realizing, or understanding, the health and environmental effects of the nuclear bomb testing program [ended in 1963], and the nuclear power program.
So since the 1950′s, the AEC and then later the NRC . . . Their main function as government agencies, and they were very well funded, was to hide the environmental and health effects of ionizing radiation from the public.
And we know there was a huge die-off in the United States, babies, unborn babies spontaneously aborted, and very high infant mortality, and children’s cancers… some babies were even born with cancer.
The decline in infant mortality in 1935 continued to fall due to improved prenatal care and better education of pregnant mothers.
The era of nuclear bomb testing which began in 1947, caused a large increase in infant mortality and one million excess infant deaths, estimated by Dr. Ernest Sternglass, from in-utero exposure to even low levels of ionizing radiation from fission products released into the atmosphere.
British radiation expert, Dr. Chris Busby, has estimated that the Fukushima disaster has released 1000 times more radiation as of August 2011, than the peak concentration of nuclear bomb test fission products measured in 1963 at the British govt. radiation lab at Harwell, UK.

Radiation and Public Health Publications (1998). PRESENTED AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON THE EFFECTS OF LOW DOSE IONIZING RADIATION IN CHILDHOOD AND YOUTH, IN MEDICINE, INDUSTRY AND ENVIRONMENT IN THE WORKPLACE 19 – 21 MARCH 1998
Leuren Moret: Farrah Fawcett is one of the victims of nuclear bomb testing. She died recently of rectal cancer, and she was actually born as a newborn baby with cancer of the intestine. So it was probably just a matter of time before cancer had a fatal effect on her health.
Another victim of nuclear bomb testing was Steve McQueen, who was one of the atomic veterans, sent out as a soldier to the Nevada Test site during bomb tests. And these fresh, young, healthy men were put in fox [holes and] trenches… a thousand feet from the nuclear bomb when it went off.
And then they were studied as human guinea pigs for the rest of their lives. And of course… Steve McQueen died of leukemia in his 40′s. And so the NRC and the AEC have been doing this forever.
Buster-Jangle was the first joint test program between the DOD and Los Alamos National Laboratories, with 6,500 troops involved. Soldiers (left) involved in the training exercise watching the mushroom cloud from “Dog” the 21 kt detonation in the picture.
Some US ground troops in fox trenches (right) were even closer and within 1000’ of the explosion. Steve McQueen, famous Hollywood actor, was one of the Atomic Veterans at the test site, and died of leukemia at the height of his Hollywood career.
Spaghetti westerns, popular at the time, were filmed in areas contaminated with bomb test fallout. Many, like John Wayne, also died of cancer from exposure during filming.
The covert agenda for the nuclear bomb test programs by the US, UK, Soviet Russia, France, and China was to inject highly ionized particles into the upper atmosphere to study the earth’s magnetic field, in order to develop HAARP, a global weapon of mass destruction now operational.
Some of the HAARP applications are weather modification, tectonic warfare, volcanic warfare, subsurface mining exploration, and global mind control.
Many many soldiers were sacrificed by exposure to radiation and other human experimentation during development of the HAARP technologies. Source: http://www.active-duty.com/MilitaryWeaponsPage.htm Source: 30+ HAARP interviews with Leuren Moret and Alfred L. Webre posted on YouTube and the internet.
Leuren Moret: Now another very disastrous program is the Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], which was set up by Dr. Stanley Tompkins, and he brought some of his AEC friends over to start what later became the Environmental Protection Agency [EPA].
And the names are always set up as government agencies to make the public think that they are being protected. But it is the reverse. It is actually to protect the government, the military, and whatever the program is that is producing all of this radioactive pollution. It is actually to protect them.
And the military [DOD], and the AEC set up the National Cancer Institute [NCI], they set up the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other — they also set up the Centers for Disease Control [CDC]. So all of the government agencies that are supposed to be protecting us, were actually set up to protect the industry.
This shocking UN study on mental disorders by severity across countries, indicates that the highest rates of mental disorders occur in countries using, or contaminated from, nuclear technologies.
The US, with the highest mental disorder rate in the world (over 26.3% of the population – one in four people), conducted over 1300 nuclear bomb tests at the Nevada Test Site between 1952 and 1963.
The pre-birth exposure to ionizing radiation in millions of babies, caused a permanent 12% decline in SAT scores for children born by 1963 exposed in-utero. The US also has 110 nuclear reactors (104 operating reactors) that increased operating capacity from 50% in the 1970’s to over 90% by the 1990’s which doubled the amount of radioactive emissions in addition to new nuclear reactors added to existing plants.
Nigeria has the lowest rate of mental illness – 4.7% – due to an absence of nuclear weapons and nuclear power in that region. Radiation from Fukushima will have a very severe global impact on humans, increasing mental illness and other chronic illnesses, by many times in future decades.
The damage will also impact the biosphere and the health of the environment. Dr. Fetzer: Americans just don’t understand this. It is also parallel to the deceptive name of the Federal Reserve for a private consortium of banks that issues money in the name of the United States, and then charges the country interest rates for doing that. [President] John F. Kennedy wanted to reform or abolish the Fed.
He had instructed the American Treasury to print United States Notes. I remember as a young Marine Corps officer holding one in my hand, where it had a red embossment print, and said “United States Note” instead of the green Federal Reserve Note.
But it is just shocking, Leuren, the extent to which the American people have been bamboozled by their own government, and their own Congress, acting on behalf of private interests and not the public.
President John F. Kennedy had US Notes printed, eliminating the Federal Reserve owned by private interests. Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy were assassinated and died for their sins of printing US Government money.
Leuren Moret: Well that is basically the power of corporations. You have to realize that the politicians, and the government agencies, that are allowing these nuclear technologies to be promoted, and used, and the effects hidden, are complicit in this whole thing.
And the politicians are very, very, involved in making profits on promoting the use of certain illegal weapons like depleted uranium, or basically nuclear power. It is really an illegal weapon being used against the public. And they take bribes and they have ties to the nuclear industry. They own stock, or they are on the board of directors of the Carlisle Group, or of United Technologies, or companies that are making illegal weapons.
And then they also own the pharmaceutical companies. I am referring specifically to George W. Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld, who own the pharmaceutical companies, peddling the medicines to sick people, sick citizens, who are the victims of the weapons that these same people have a vested interest in promoting [and have taken control of our universities].
The Carlisle Group, which was started by George Herbert Walker Bush and others, made their first big pile of money on the depleted uranium weapons that were introduced by President George H. W. Bush, to the battlefield in 1990 in Iraq.
And as a result, Jim, and you were a fine Marine officer, my father was a fine Marine officer, you and he were not exposed to depleted uranium weapons, which would have caused an earlier death and a horrible future of long-lingering illnesses, if you or my father had been exposed to that. We have two million soldiers today, medically disabled since 1990, because of depleted uranium.
Reported by the VA as of August 2006, this is the Veterans Administration (VA) list of diagnoses in631,174 veterans who had served on the battlefield for the first time in the 2003 Iraq War.
Muscular-skeletal, mental, ill-defined conditions, gastrointestinal, and neural diseases had the highest numbers of diagnoses in the soldiers and veterans.
After WW II, the medical disability rate in veterans was 5%, and rose to 10% for Vietnam veterans due to Agent Orange exposure.
The much higher 55% medical disability rate since 1990 in Gulf-era veterans, is due primarily to the 1990 Gulf War introduction and use of depleted uranium weapons to the battlefield.
As of 2011 the Veterans Administration (VA) listed over 2 million medically disabled Gulf-era US soldiers and veterans since 1990. Source: Courtesy of Maj. Doug Rokke, USAF (ret.), from M. Brown Powerpoint, VAdmin, 2006.
Dr. Fetzer: How many again?
Leuren Moret: Two million [since 1990, a 55% medical disability rate].
Dr. Fetzer: Unbelievable, unbelievable! And think of the vast expense that is associated with all of that in terms of veterans care and lost productivity and the loss of taxes, because these are not individuals who are able to perform ordinary work projects.
Leuren Moret: They are so sick they can’t even drive. They were… many of them have called me and told me they wanted to commit suicide. They have told me stories, “I was a policeman, I was an athlete, I was fit and buff when I went into the military.”
And two months after they got to Iraq, for the 2003 Iraq War, they were already mentally ill from the effects of radiation. It has a huge, huge… uranium has a tremendous impact on the heart and the brain, and also the neuromuscular system. So we have a 55% medical disability rate in our soldiers.
It may be even higher now since 1990, when DU was introduced to the battle field. And after World War II, it was a 5% medical disability rate… that’s with conventional weapons, except for the [atomic] bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki [on a human population for the first time].
After Vietnam, because of Agent Orange, the medical disability rate went up to 10%. But since 1990, with these uranium weapons, the medical disability rate is over 55%. It is in the soldier’s bodies, in their semen, in their blood, in their sweat, and they come back sick from Iraq, or Afghanistan, or Yugoslavia, and they internally contaminate their wives and partners.
The babies born after the men are exposed [to depleted uranium and exotic weapons],are born with horrific birth defects, with no legs or no arms… with one eye in the middle of the forehead, that is called cyclopia.
Since 1990 and the first Gulf War, bizarre birth defects (in humans and animals) have been reported in Iraqis, Yugoslavians, Afghanis, Palestinians, and in regions where monsoon rains (see FIG. 17 monsoon map) deposit the “smog of war” – battlefield radioactive dust and aerosols – into the environment.
Soldiers returning contaminated from Operation Desert Storm had babies born with hands attached to shoulders, no legs, and other severe birth defects. The deformities in babies from Iraq were even worse, due to permanent exposure to increasing levels of radiation in their environment. Conjoined twins were reported in the Iraqi cities where heavy battles occurred: Mosul, Tikrit, Fallujah, Baghdad, Sadr City, Najaf, and Amara.
Cyclopia (one eyed babies born with half a face and brain) were reported in Iraq, Nigeria, India, and across the regions of the monsoon season. The opposite of Cyclopia, or Disprosopus in babies with two faces, have been similarly reported in contaminated regions. Conjoined twinning in animals has been reported in Egypt, Iraq, Palestine, India, China, Japan, US, and in other areas of the monsoon season.
During bomb testing in the US (1952-63), conjoined twinning became an epidemic and the annual numbers born correlated with the total kiloton equivalent of detonations each year.
Since 1990 and the first Gulf War (use of depleted uranium, neutron devices, low kt nuclear weapons), conjoined twinning has become a widespread phenomenon throughout the Middle East and even as far as Poland, Caribbean, Argentina, the western slope of the Andes Mts. of South America, US, SE Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines), Africa, and Europe.
In response to the twinning crisis, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, established the “Kingdom of Humanity” a modern center in Riyadh to separate conjoined twins at his own personal expense, for parents anywhere in the world with conjoined twins. What a generous miracle for parents without means, and what a gift to the children! Source: King Abdullah “Kingdom of Humanity”, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Leuren Moret: All these rare birth defects, are occurring not only in our soldiers, but in Fallujah, in the Iraqi population the rate is much higher. And fortunately we will be talking to Dr. Chris Busby who has done more, than any other individual around the world, in doing actual scientific research and reports on the effects in our soldiers and in the Iraqis. And he will be talking about a health survey.
I think it was over 5,000 people were surveyed in Fallujah secretly, and he has compiled that data, and published it now, and it is just horrifying. The birth defects and the infant mortality are five to ten times higher than in Jordan and Israel and surrounding countries.
Dr. Fetzer: Leuren, and of course these are not the only areas in which we have had ecological and evolutionary disasters. But also of course, in the Gulf of Mexico where, as I have mentioned, we have made efforts to avoid Gulf of Mexico shrimp. But the consequences there for those who live on the land in the immediate vicinity, who are on the shoreline, and worldwide of course, the vast majority of the world’s population lives in locations in close proximity to shorelines.
I mean this has to have been an unprecedented disaster to all of them, to their livelihoods, and to their health and well-being, from Texas and Louisiana and Mississippi and working our way to Florida. I mean… it has to have been simply a massive calamity, economically, ecologically, and health-wise.
Leuren Moret: That is correct. And what was reported, in April during those big tornadoes across the Southern states, is that when the hailstones were analyzed, Corexit was identified as a contaminant inside the hailstones. And at the same time that those tornadoes were occurring, with Corexit in the rain and the hailstones, the huge plumes of radioactive pollution from Fukushima were traveling through the Southern states and contaminating Florida, all of the Southern states.
And combining chemically with the Corexit, which is a chemical toxin, and the ionizing radiation from Fukushima – as a nanoparticle, chemical, and a radioactive toxin.
And the Corexit, and the radiation together, multiply the effects [synergistic effects] of each other – by at least ten times – the harmful effects. So it accelerated the death rates, the infant mortality, spontaneous abortion, in those Southern states and it sure does look like a depopulation agenda to me.
Dr. Fetzer: Well that is fairly stunning Leuren, you know, to think that these things could be done deliberately is simply, good God, nauseating. I mean it is so grotesque –
Leuren Moret: It sure is.
Dr. Fetzer: — That this could be the case. It leaves me virtually speechless.
Leuren Moret: Well, now let us just look at what was just reported this week in the Daily Mail in England about the effects on Marine life in the Gulf of Baja… The Sea of Cortez [in Mexico]. And that is the sea that is between the peninsula of Baja California and the mainland of Mexico.
There is kind of an inland sea there. And fishermen are reporting that when they caught female sharks in that inland sea, called the Sea of Cortez, they have found unborn baby sharks with one eye in the middle of the forehead.
A shark pup with albino skin and a single eye wasfound by fishermen in the Gulf of California, Mexico, in Oct. 2011, when they cut open the stomach of its mother.
The shark pup also had many internal birth defects when it was examined. Other fishermen reported finding unborn conjoined baby shark twins in another pregnant female shark in the same area.
The Fukushima Japan nuclear disaster March 11, 2011, has caused widespread radioactive contamination of the northern Pacific Ocean, indicating food contamination from the Pacific is now a serious danger.
The radiation map in Fig. 1 indicates heavy contamination of the Pacific Coast from Alaska through Mexico, and confirms heavy radiation exposure of the Gulf of Mexico.
The Pacific Islands such as Hawaii, Guam, and others are also exposed to high levels of radiation from Fukushima, poisoning critical food supplies for coastal indigenous populations in the Pacific rim region. The entire Pacific fishery can be expected to now be very contaminated.
Leuren Moret: It is called cyclopia, which has also been reported in Fallujah [babies], during bomb testing [in the US 1952-1963], in Afghanistan, and in Kazakhstan in the Semipalatinsk area, where the Russians, the Soviets did their nuclear bomb tests in Central Asia. So we are also — these fishermen reported in another female shark, they found an unborn baby shark that was actually a conjoined twin, it is a Siamese Twin.
And there is a very large increase in conjoined twinning in Central Asia, the Middle East, and in regions like the Himalayas and China and across parts of Africa where the monsoon rains are raining out the depleted uranium and the exotic weapons still being used in Afghanistan and Iraq.
So conjoined twinning also rapidly increased all over the United States during the bomb testing era 1952-1963.
Wet summer and dry winter rainout patterns are known as the monsoon cycle, and is used to refer to the rainy phase of a seasonally-changing pattern, with a dry winter phase. Due to heavy use of depleted uranium and nuclear weapons introduced by the US in Iraq in 1990, the monsoon rainout regions have high rates of birth defects and conjoined twinning reported in animals and humans.
When such rare phenomena are reported in both animals and humans, an environmental contaminant is the most likely cause. Iraq, Yugoslavia, Afganistan, Lebanon, Gaza, Korea, Mindanao in the Philippines, Sudan, Somalia, and Australia are highly contaminated (from military weapons use) point sources for depleted uranium (and other exotic weapons) atmospheric contamination which is carried and rained out globally by the annual patterns of monsoon circulation.
Since 2003, the US military has been synchronizing heavy carpet bombing in Iraq and Afghanistan with the summer monsoon heavy rainy season for maximum rainout of radiation across the regions on this map. In the “shadow of war”, President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva are now suffering from cancer.
Pres. Chavez announced a cancer summit in early 2012 for current and former S. American Presidents who have suffered from cancer: Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, 63, (lymphatic cancer in 2009), Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo, 60, (lymphatic cancer August 2010), Venezuelan Pres. Chavez, 57, (tumor in pelvic area 2011), Brazilian Pres. Lula da Silva, 66, (throat cancer 2011).
These cancers are typical of depleted uranium exposures. Source: http://climate.snu.ac.kr/2005_new/res/ monsoon/monsoon-definition-en.htmlSource: “Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez calls for ‘cancer summit’”, The New Age, Nov. 7, 2011.
Dr. Fetzer: I am reminded of a conversation that I had with Major Doug Rokke ret., who used to fly B-52 bombers and who has considerable familiarity with depleted uranium weapons.
When I asked him why would the military, being aware of the vast genetic consequences, the deformities, the stillbirths and so forth, persevere in using these weapons, and he told me it was because they were the best weapons to use, for example, to penetrate the thick armor of tanks. And that, when I pressed him, he conceded that the military simply doesn’t care…
Leuren Moret: That’s right.
Dr. Fetzer: – About the health effects or genetic consequences, I mean…
Leuren Moret: Well they can use tungsten. Tungsten is denser even than depleted uranium and it doesn’t have the same radiological effects. Tungsten is toxic in some circumstances and some molecules and compounds [such as DIME weapons used in Gaza, Iraq, Lebanon cite]. Tungsten is a very fine kinetic energy penetrator [used by the US Navy], it just costs more.
Dr. Fetzer: And Leuren, I am quite confident that there is collusion here between the nuclear power industry that has all of these waste products that they want to get rid of, and convert into a profit rather than a loss and by marketing them, selling them to the military for use in depleted uranium weapons, they are able to do that.
Leuren Moret: Well, for every pound of uranium, naturally occurring uranium, that is extracted from ore, 99.7% of that extracted metal is depleted uranium. It is radioactive trash. And only 0.5% [U-235] of the uranium they mine can be used for nuclear weapons or nuclear power plant fuel.
So there is a huge waste stream. And what they are doing is they are dumping into the public domain, any metals that are contaminated with radiation… now are being recycled into the civilian metal supply. They are being remanufactured in countries like China and we don’t even know what is in the metal. And our country, our government, is hiding it from the public.
Dr. Fetzer: So that the next can of peas or beets or whatever you obtain at the grocery store, might actually be in a can that is exuding radiation.
Leuren Moret: Or baby stroller.
Dr. Fetzer: Or baby stroller. Or a walker for the elderly. Or a wheel chair.
Leuren Moret: Or braces on your teeth. And a really horrible story, horrible story about what academic institutions do with people who donate their bodies for science. This was a horrible scandal, that the University of California at Los Angeles was involved in, and other universities in the U.S.
They were selling those bodies donated for science, by alumni or whoever had donated to the universities… they were selling them for $10,000 a cadaver to the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Army was using these dead bodies of people’s grandparents, and great grandparents, and parents, for target practice with depleted uranium bullets.
Dr. Fetzer: Good gracious. What in the world would that be necessary for. I mean ordinary bullets will go through a body, much less depleted uranium.
Leuren Moret: That is just what the Army… that is what the Pentagon is spending a lot of money on.
Dr. Fetzer: And Leuren, there seems to be a parallel here with fluoride, which was a toxic waste product of the processing of certain kinds of chemicals by the industry, and once again it has been converted in such a fashion as to be used in our water supply and allegedly on the grounds that it strengthens our enamel and makes it less likely we are going to suffer from tooth decay.
But my impression at this point in time is in fact what we are undergoing is a gradual poisoning of the entire population.
Leuren Moret: Depleted uranium, in order to extract that 0.5% of U-235, and this all occurs at the Oak Ridge, Tennessee, nuclear weapons lab, they take the natural uranium metal that is removed from ore, extracted from ore, and they turn it into uranium hexafluoride gas.
And they pass that through filters [membranes] that remove the U-235, but they can only remove 0.5% of it. And when they convert the separated uranium metals [depleted uranium and U-235], the depleted uranium which has been depleted in U-235, and the pure U-235, they convert it back to uranium metal.
They have all that fluoride, which is highly corrosive and extremely neurotoxic, and so that was Dr. Edward Teller’s idea. He is referred to as “Dr. Strangelove”. He was for a very short period . . . he was Director of Livermore Nuclear Weapons Lab. He said “Let’s just dilute it by dumping it into the American water supply.”
They think dilution is the solution to pollution. And of course he and others were very aware that fluoride was added to drinking water in the slave camps in Germany, to subdue the slave prisoners during World War II under the Nazis. And Asian leaders have also used it to subdue their subjects, because it slows down the functioning of the brain.
Dr. Fetzer: You are telling me that the fluoridization of the water supply in the United States is having the effect of making the population more passive, more amenable to manipulation, and less resistant to abuse.
Leuren Moret: Yes. And the fluoride ion or atom that gets into the tooth structure, actually weakens the tooth structure, because it is not the correct element and it interacts with the crystalline structure of the tooth material in a negative way. It shouldn’t be there. It is not as strong. It does not make the teeth stronger, it makes them weaker.
Dr. Fetzer: So fluoride does not even help to resist tooth decay, which is the principal ground on which it has been marketed to the American people. It is like Star Wars.
I had Bob Bowman, who has a PhD in nuclear engineering from Caltech, who was Scientific Director of the Star Wars projects under Carter and Ford, and who when I pressed him during an interview about the militarization of space, he demurred and wouldn’t really respond, but within weeks was explaining on other programs that the whole program had always been offensive.
That it was sold to the American people as defensive, but it was always all about the militarization of space.
Leuren Moret: Exactly.
Dr. Fetzer: So we get all this marketing of products, that are extremely hazardous to the health and well-being of the American people, and our government does nothing but lie, lie, lie, lie about them.
This graph, based on data from the Centers for Disease Control, indicates that the peak period of excess deaths in the US was April 23-May 21, 2011, in the West North and South Central regions, with a peak death date (West North Central: from 0% on April 23 to 34% increase on May 7 – see table below on left as of 7/9/11).
The CDC excess deaths data for each region (below on right), based on age groups, indicates that the elderly have had significant excess death rates in all 6 regions, which is expected for people in their older years with compromised health histories.
However, the significant increases for the 45-64 age group (sometimes higher than for the elderly), is surprising but may be due to bomb testing exposure in childhood (1947-63), or Gulf-era veterans exposure to depleted uranium since 1990.
The very high increase in death rates – 18.7% – in the 25-44 age group in the West South Central region (Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana) is hard to explain without pointing to the military, since there are many military bases in those states, and today veterans tend to settle near military bases when they get out of active duty so they can use veterans medical facilities. Leuren Moret: That’s right, and the peak levels of radiation [from the Fukushima disaster in Japan on March 11, 2011] that reached the United States, were not even reported.
But it was from the last week in April to almost the last week in May, and the peak level of dry [dust and aerosols settling into the environment] and wet radiation deposition [from rain, fog, snow] in the environment was May 7th [2011]. It was a horrendous increase.
Dr. Fetzer: May 7th of this year [2011], yes.Leuren Moret: That’s right, and the peak levels of radiation [from the Fukushima disaster in Japan on March 11, 2011] that reached the United States, were not even reported.

Leuren Moret: Yes. The percentage of death quadrupled. It increased four times. On one day.
Dr. Fetzer: Leuren, as we continue we are going to be joined by Dr. Chris Busby from the UK, and everyone should stand by. [I am] Jim Fetzer, your host. We will be continuing my conversation with Leuren Moret and Christopher Busby when we return.
POSTSCRIPT:
This UN report on global population changes includes the years from 1950 to the present, and projects future changes out to 2050, a one-hundred-year interval. It exposes the fact that the population has been shrinking since the 1950’s.
The impacts of nuclear technologies on global population decline are clear – nuclear bomb tests, nuclear power plants, Chernobyl, and the introduction of depleted uranium weaponry in 1990 have all taken their toll on the human race. What lies ahead as the consequence of the Fukushima nuclear disaster will dwarf the global impact of nuclear technologies inS the past.
